Doing nothing is basically the only choice Biden has that doesn't play into the far-right's hand. A more energetic president in his situation might be able to make a bold, clever move to curtail the consequences, but I don't think Biden has it in him and he knows it.
The other main player is Congress, but that will require decisive and immediate action on their part. Not sure they will be able to do what needs doing.
We The People could make a move too, but that's a recipe for chaos.
