I'm assuming this applies to pretty much anywhere, but definitely in the US, if you receive an item you did not order, you are not under any obligation to do anything about it.
Obviously, it needs to be postmarked for *you* (stealing someone's mail is illegal), but if you get a package or an extra item you never ordered.... congratulations, you just got free shit!
