uspol, cynicism
This is the lesson I've learned since 2016, and why I have become such a pessimist and cynic: our society is no longer capable (if it ever was) to respond to challenges and problems to the degree necessary. We limit ourselves to the lowest risk, least effort options. We constantly half-ass solutions and take half-measures and wonder why things seem to just keep getting worse.
And I'm just as subject to this attitude as anyone. I'm no better, which is why I don't have much hope.
