Like, so far it's looking like widespread clouds and rain, which is about the worst case scenario. But it's too early to tell whether that means overcast or intermittent clouds, the timing of those clouds, and how that varies locally along the path of totality.
Those small details can make a lot of difference. As in, I don't care if it rains before or after the eclipse if it'll be clear during totality, which might very well be the case.
